ESPERANCE BANLIEUES, A PRAGMATIC SCHOOL MODEL
The Espérance banlieues Foundation develops a school model specifically adapted to the needs of the suburbs. It was developed at the pilot school Alexandre-Dumas de Montfermeil. As a result, schools are set up everywhere in France at the initiative of local project promoters. These establishments, accompanied by the Foundation, constitute the network of "Esperance schools suburbs".
TWO OBJECTIVES:
TO FIGHT AGAINST SCHOLARSHIP DROPOUT • Educate each child in a rigorous and structured way. • To assimilate the rules of life in society: respect, authority, responsibility. • Promote successful professional integration.
INTEGRATING CHILDREN FROM IMMIGRATION Developing knowledge and a taste for French culture. • Cultivate a strong sense of belonging in schools to divert children from parallel logic of belonging (communitarianism, criminal gangs, radical Islam).
